BLUESFORTHEHORN is an East-London-British-Somali-Female R&B singer and songwriter fusing the heart of Tamia with the spirit of Lauryn Hill. As a songwriter, she writes about the everyday experiences of others and her own, which are typically about love, heartbreak and vulnerabilities. Her singles “Insecurities” and “Summertime Fall” were supported by DJ Ace (BBC Radio 1 XTRA), Capital XTRA and Worldwide FM. After the release of her debut EP ‘Finna Touch ‘A’ Beach’, she was successfully listed as “Jamz EP Top 5” by DJ Jamz Supernova. She has supported the likes of Yazmin Lacey on her UK tour in February 2020.
Her standout vocals are only rivalled by her confident and intimate control of the mic in her live performances. Her command of softness and intensity makes her a force to be reckoned with. She belongs to the milieu of female artists raised on old-school R&B that aren’t scared to reveal their vulnerabilities. Her music is soulful and timeless bringing you the sounds of the 90s and early 2000 R&B. Her identity has played a major role in bridging both cultures together which has influenced her music and sound. She is one of the few RnB British Somalis to represent UK music.
BLUESFORTHEHORN’s second EP is anticipated to be released later this year. Her EP promises to bring you an evolved sound with contributions to RnB and Jazz.
